Resolutions

Well happy new year!!

I always find New Years very emotional. Whether it’s being proud of what I’ve achieved in the past year or just being surprised I’ve made it another year.

A lot happens over a year and sometimes can be scary looking back at it.

But as a tradition you always talk about making a New Years resolution. Whether it is quit smoking, drinking, work out more or save money. I never find that I ever achieve them by the end of the year or even remembered them past the 10th of January!

I’m sure I’m not the only one does this!

But sometimes I think we look at what we want to achieve whether it’s for one’s self or to feel more part of society. I’ve decided I’ve been doing it all wrong.

A new year resolution should be something achievable not over a year but regularly over the year.

Yes, that could necessarily apply to the saving, dieting and all but if you can’t comfortably save 10£ each month why put pressure on yourself?!

On Christmas Day I asked my family what there New Years resolutions are. And my cousin (the smart cookie) said “To smile every day”.

Yes, they may miss a day or 2 but it’s a good habit and consciously do-able. So this year I say make it a simple one!

Say thank you more, regularly look in the mirror and compliment yourself, have a spa evening once a month.

Make it something to promote happiness!

And let’s make 2022 a year of good habits and small achievements!!

And hopefully less full of covid and pandemic rules… 🙂
